Maltese enterprises have been given recognition for their efforts to enable their products and services to penetrate international markets in the second edition of the Malta International Business Awards organised by Trade Malta.
The 12 finalist companies in various categories were chosen for their inspiration and innovation. The winning company was the AquaBiotech Group which registered the highest export success in overseas markets.
Freehour won the award for best online product, an app used by students that is today even being used by Italian students.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Carmelo Abela, praised the ambitions and courage of Maltese entrepreneurs for their visions in penetrating international markets.
The Minister spoke of the effort being made for greater diplomatic representation in South America, Africa and Asia which among others will enable Maltese entrepreneurs to find greater support to penetrate new markets. He also announced that a Maltese delegation will be visiting Ghana and Rwanda to explore commercial opportunities.
