Gozo-based craft brewery Lord Chambray has entered into an agreement with a large beer importer in Italy, following assistance from Trade Malta, Malta’s export promotion agency.
Since they started operating some two years ago, Lord Chambray invested in equipment and training, and has already won numerous awards.
The company participated in Trade Malta’s Go Global programme, an assistance programme for early-stage exporters which includes a diagnostic of the company’s export readiness, a training programme, as well as financial assistance for the company to visit major trade fairs and meetings.
Lord Chambray’s presence at a craft beer exhibition in February resulted in a meeting with Italy’s largest beer importer, who spotted the potential of the Lord Chambray product. Two orders have already been delivered through this new distributorship which meant that Lord Chambray products are now found in outlets in Liguria, Piedmont and Lombardy.
During the same trade exhibition, Lord Chambray met potential distributors from Norway, Finland, Denmark, Lithuania and Slovenia to where samples of the craft beer have been sent, with the founder and director Saverio D’Imperio looking forward to further expansion of this beer made in Gozo.
