Originally established by the Jesuits in the late sixteenth century and refounded by Gran master Pinto iin 1769, L-Universita’ ta’ Malta is a public tertiary institution offering a vast range of study programmes at undergrad, postgrad and doctorate level. With it’s 14 Faculties, 18 Institutes and 11 Centres plus 3 Schools, the University of Malta ensures that it is in a position to provide degree programmes that best address Malta’s present and emergent needs. The University also manages the Junior College which prepares students for tertiary programmes. With close to 10% of its student population being international students and with English being the language of instruction across all courses, l-Universita’ Malta will continue to consolidate its standing as a prestigious tertiary institution in the centre of the Mediterranean.
