Business Mission to Lebanon and Jordan

A group of 40 plus business persons together with representatives from a number of public entities joined a business mission led by the Prime Minister of Malta, Dr Joseph Muscat to Amman, Jordan and Beirut, Lebanon from the 10-14 April 2016.  This was carried out in collaboration with the Amman Chamber of Commerce as well as the Beirut Chamber of Commerce.  The business delegation comprised of 17 businesses which were keen to enter forms of business collaboration with their Jordanian and Lebanese counterparts.  The business sectors represented included plastic and metal products, fish farming, lift services, paint finishing, legal services and company registration services amongst others.  The presence of officials from the Malta Tourism Authority, Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, Malta Investments Management Co Ltd and the Malta Developers Association, furthermore showed an even clearer picture of the business, investment, property development and tourism potential that exits between Malta and the respective countries.
 
The Maltese company representatives from the sectors represented were very interested in exploring the trade potential that exist in both Jordan andLebanon, and welcomed all forms of collaboration.  From initial indications the Maltese businesses were very well received and there already exist a number of highly potential collaborations in the various sectors represented.  Additionally, as stressed even further by Dr Joseph Muscat, various forms of collaboration between these sectors in both Jordan and Lebanon are welcomed and encouraged and aim at enhancing further and better bilateral trade relations between Malta and these two markets.
